GREEN - Joseph A. Bucantis, 86, of the Lake Tranquility section of Green Township, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at his daughter's home in Green Township. Born and raised in Dixon City, Pa., Mr. Bucantis was a longtime resident of Green Township. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. A shift supervisor at M&M Mars in Hackettstown, Mr. Bucantis retired in 1984 after 37 years of service. He was a member of the M&M Mars Senior Club, the American Legion and the VFW in Hackettstown. The son of the late Albert and Mary (Logan) Bucantis, Mr. Bucantis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen (Benedict) Bucantis; two daughters, Barbara Henry of Staten Island, N.Y., and JoEllen Barrett and her husband, Michael, of Lake Tranquility; two sons, James Bucantis of Framingham, Mass., and Joseph Bucantis and his wife, JoMarie, of Tampa, Fla.; and three grandsons, Michael, Shawn and Travis Barrett. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Route 517, Andover Borough. Interment will be held in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Green Township. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
