VERNON - Mary Edna Dunay, 94, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. Born to David and Bertha Skellenger in Vernon, she was a lifelong resident of Vernon. Mrs. Dunay was a very dedicated homemaker. Mrs. Dunay was predeceased by her husband, Adolf Dunay (1994); a daughter, Dianna Semoneit; two brothers, David and Lawrence Skellenger; and six sisters, Hazel Vealey, Jessie Willis, Gladys Shipman, Dorothy Van Horn, Gertrude Van Horn and Evelyn Delmarter. She was the loving mother of Adolph E. Dunay, of Vernon, Virginia D. Brzenk, of McHenry, Ill., Estelle Dunay, of Vernon, and Joseph Dunay, of Vernon; dear sister of Myrtle Mackerley, of Hamburg, and Kathleen Thomas, of Florida. Cherished by eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Julia Heck, of Lakewood; dear friend of Betty Jo Kaczmar, of Pine Island, N.Y. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral service to commence at noon at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Clove Cemetery, Wantage.
