VERNON - Laura Danielle Miller, 26, died unexpectedly at Saint Clare's Hospital in Sussex on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. Born to William and Theresa Miller in Paterson, she had been a lifelong resident of Vernon.

Laura was a 2004 graduate of Vernon Township High School, where she was in the marching band, and was working as a cashier at the Dollar Tree in Franklin for the last few months. Laura enjoyed fishing, doing math and crossword puzzles and was an avid softball player.

Laura was predeceased by a sister, Lauren Miller (1985) and an uncle, Joseph Miller. She was the devoted daughter of William and Theresa Miller, of Vernon; dear sister of Melissa Miller of San Diego, Calif., and Lindsay Miller of Vernon; stepsister of Lisa Kaminski, of Lodi, Jennifer Miller, of East Rutherford and William Miller, of Slingerlands, N.Y.; and niece of Helen Young, of Lodi.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. A funeral service will commence Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers to the Salvation Army "Hurricane Sandy" Relief Fund,, for the New Jersey Shore communities that were devastated, would be appreciated. Information and condolences can be found at
