WANTAGE - Jane Stoddart Pettigrew, 93, passed away at home Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. The daughter of Margaret Morrow Hoyle and Harold Arthur Stoddart, she was born in Newark Jan. 6, 1919. Mrs. Pettigrew resided in Andover most of her life before moving to Wantage. Mrs. Pettigrew worked in a war plant during World War II. After raising her children, she returned to work as the head receptionist at Allied Chemicals headquarters in Morristown. After retirement, she began a third career as an antique dealer at the Lafayette Mill Antique Center. Mrs. Pettigrew enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, camping and skydiving. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, George Neal Pettigrew. She was the devoted mother of Bonnie Pettigrew DuBois, of Spring Lake, Linda Pettigrew Preston, of Wantage, and Dr. Neal Robert Pettigrew, of Blue Hill, Maine. She also is survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Wantage United Methodist Church, 199 Libertyville Road, Wantage. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salvation Army NJDH, 4 Gary Road, Union, NJ 07083.
