WANTAGE - Emma Lian Parkes, 13, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers, James Parkes and Gerald Wohl. She is survived by her parents, Kevin and Karen Parkes; her paternal grandmother, Frances Parkes, of Ridgefield Park; her uncle, Sean Parkes, of Hackensack; her aunt, Sharyn Parkes, of Ridgefield Park; her maternal grandmother, Miriam Wohl, of Fort Lee; and her aunt and uncle, Jay and Sukanya Meschel, of California.

Emma had attended the Sussex-Wantage School system and was currently attending eighth grade at Pope John in Sparta. Emma was so full of life and she always had a smile on her face. She was a very caring young girl and had befriended everyone that she came into contact with. She touched so many lives with her kindness. In the past, she donated her hair to Locks of Love. Emma loved horseback riding and enjoyed watching and playing football.

Private cremation services have been entrusted to Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey, 1347 Perrineville Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831.
