WANTAGE - Antonio Figueroa, 75, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at his residence. Born in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Figueroa came to the United States 49 years ago and had lived in New York City before moving to Sussex County in 2001. He had been a chef at Sheraton Hotel at La Guardia Airport and had retired in 1984. He enjoyed spending time at the Double "S" Diner and participating at their events. Mr. Figueroa was predeceased by his father, Gillermo Figueroa. He is survived by his wife, Ana; his two sons, Tony and his wife, Charlene, of Wantage, and Eric and his wife, Rene, of Vernon; his two grandsons, Eric Jr. and Michael Anthony; his mother, Carmela (Churser) Figueroa, of the Dominican Republic; his brothers, Juan, Anderson, Angel, Thomas, Paco and Juanito; and his sisters, Rosa, Lucia, Mercades, Matilda, Maligros and Menilda. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex, with the Rev. Charles Perricone officiating. Friends may pay their respects to the family Sunday prior to the service from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation services will be held at the convenience of the family.
