HARDYSTON - Ward Raymond Woodbury, 66, died after a short illness at Newton Medical Center Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. Born in Spokane, Wash., he had lived in Bayonne and Washington state before moving to Hardyston in 1980.

Mr. Woodbury served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and then worked as a senior manager for Fed Ex in Parsippany. After retiring from there he worked as a lane tech for the NJDMV Inspection Station for Parsons Corp. in Newton for five years. Mr. Woodbury enjoyed boating and working on cars.

Mr. Woodbury was predeceased by his sister, Eldonna Postle. He is survived by his mother, Velma Peck, and was the beloved husband for 42 years of Susan Woodbury (Laurich), of Hardyston. Devoted father of Greg Woodbury and his wife, Gina, of Vernon, Shaun Woodbury of Franklin, and Kristen Woodbury of Staten Island, N.Y. Loving grandfather of Connor Woodbury. Dear brother of Larry Alley of Coulee, Wash., Marylyn Whitacre of Seattle, Wash., and Mary Ann Gentry of Everett, Wash. Cherished by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin, on Monday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston Township. Memorial gifts to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, P.O.
