DICKSON CITY, Pa. - Pearl K. Polc, 86, formerly of Newton, passed away Jan. 3, 2013, after a short illness. Pearl was born in Dickson City, Pa., May 22, 1926, to the late Walter and Sophie (Buchinsky) Bielinski.
She was predeceased by her sister, Irene Zelno. A very loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was known for her inner strength, great advice and humor. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Stephen Polc, of Dickson City; two daughters, Donna Dunne, and husband, Fred, of Wayne; and Debbie Heller, and husband, Jeff, of Andover; six grandchildren, Kelly (Dunne) Schmitz, and husband, Bryan, of Wayne, Jaime (Dunne) Dorunda, and husband, Michael, of Westfield, Mass., Charissa (Heller) Brennan, and husband, Patrick, of Byram, Kurt Heller, and wife, Cheryl, of Branchville, Chip Dunne of Jersey City, and Brittani Heller, of Andover; eight great-grandchildren, Colyn, Ryan and Jessica Schmitz, Michael, Abigail and Patrick Dorunda, and Troy and Tyler Brennan; a sister, Ruth Frankovsky, of Throop, Pa.; a brother, Walter Bielinski, and wife, Marilyn, of Vestal, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1101 Willow St., Peckville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made in Pearl Polc's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Sacred Heart Hospice, 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702.
