FRELINGHUYSEN - Newton A. Parker, 88, of Frelinghuysen, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. Born in Irvington, Mr. Parker lived in Frelinghuysen. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 106th Division 592nd Field Artillery during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Parker was the former proprietor of Parker Sheet Metal in Pine Brook and the proprietor of Double N Pheasant Farm in Frelinghuysen since 1968. Most recently, Mr. Parker was the broker of Biz-Com Realty in Augusta. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. A disabled veteran, Mr. Parker also was a member of V.B.O.B., the American Legion, the NRA and Harmony Lodge 8 F&AM in Andover Township. He was a property manager for the Diocese of Newark. The son of the late Fred and Marie (Vogel) Parker, Mr. Parker was predeceased by his first wife, Thee, and his sister, Helen. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Barbara (Bene); his son, Ty Parker, and wife, Pattiann; two grandchildren, Beau and Teddy; and a sister, Marie Klotz, of Chatham. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Christ Episcopal Church, 62 Main St., Newton. Following the memorial service, Military Honors and a Masonic Service will be held in Holly Hall at the church.
