Obituary Condolences

FRANKFORD â€" George A. Garber, 83, of the Culver Lake section of Frankford Township, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Morristown Medical Center.

Born and raised in Richmond, Va., Mr. Garber moved to Culver Lake 54 years ago. He was a United States Navy veteran. A self-employed glazier, Mr. Garber was the owner/operator of Sasse Glass Shop in Newton for 50 years before his retirement. His community involvement included Branchville Businessmen, Newton VFW Memorial Post 5360 and a former chief of the Sandyston Township Fire Department. He also was a Mason and was affiliated with Kittatinny Lodge in Branchville, and was a Shriner and member of the Scottish Rite.

The son of the late Clyde and Edith (Trevillian) Garber, Mr. Garber also was predeceased by his son, Mark S. Garber, in 1996; two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. (Boyd) Garber; his daughters, Melanie and Leslie Garber, both of Branchville; his daughter-in-law, Eva Garber; his grandchildren, Erica Garber, Graham Garber, Shannon and Tyler Lista; his great-grandson, Miles Silverstein; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved Labrador, Buddy.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville. Interment will follow in Frankford Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home, with an 8 p.m. Masonic service.
