FRANKLIN - Joseph D. Schreck, 81, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013. Born in Jersey City, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Nieser) Schreck. Joseph had been a resident of Franklin since 1994 and prior to that had resided in Ridgefield and Jersey City. For many years Mr. Schreck was employed as an operations manager for Smith-Barney-Shearson in New York City, retiring in 1994. He was a very dedicated and active parishioner at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Hamburg. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Schreck (2001), and several of his siblings. He is survived by his children: a son, Daniel Schreck and his wife, Trish, of Wayne, daughters, Maureen Campbell and her husband, David, of Paramus, and Elizabeth Converse and her husband, Frank, of Vernon; four granddaughters, Kimberley Woodhouse and her husband, Jared, Colleen, Kristen and Kaitlyn; a brother, Phil Schreck, of North Arlington, and a sister, Barbara Pitarresi and her husband, Sam, of Jersey City. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 4-24 Beaver Run Road, Hamburg. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Hardyston. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12.
