VERNON - Peter Joseph Cahalin, 51, died after a short illness at Andover Subacute and Rehab Center on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. Born to Peter J. and Mary Cahalin in Manhattan, N.Y., he was raised in the Bronx and lived in Yonkers, N.Y., before moving to the Barry Lakes section of Vernon Township 18 years ago. Mr. Cahalin was a graduate of Mt. St. Michael Academy in the Bronx, Class of 1979, and worked as a logistics supervisor for Bowne Business Communications in Secaucus for 20 years and most recently was working for R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Secaucus for the last year. Mr. Cahalin was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church in Highland Lakes and enjoyed cooking, playing with his dog and most of all being with family and friends. Mr. Cahalin was the beloved husband of Stephani Ann Cahalin (Wood), of Barry Lakes. Devoted father of Peter J. and Erin B. Cahalin, both at home. Dear brother of Michael G. Cahalin and his wife, Mary Ann, of East Chester, N.Y. Nephew of Sister Mary Cahalin, of Blauvelt, N.Y. Dearest friend of Buddy, his dog. Cherished by many nephews, nieces and cousins. The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (For GPS, 1 Vanderhoof Court), Vernon, on Monday, Feb. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima R.C.
