LAKE HOPATCONG - William Paul Coveney, 80, died at his residence surrounded by his family on Sunday Feb. 17, 2013. Born in Ebensburg, Pa., he was the son of the late William P. and Mary Catherine (Wineland) Coveney. Since 2002 he had been a resident of Lake Hopatcong and prior to that had resided for many years in Milton. Mr. Coveney was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during the Korea War. For many years he was employed as a program manager for Kearfott Guidance and Navigation in Little Falls. He was a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Mr. Coveney had been a very dedicated and longtime parishioner of Our Lady of The Lake Church in Mount Arlington. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching television and was an avid reader. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Blum. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Patricia T. (Kendall) Coveney, of Lake Hopatcong; sons, Kevin Coveney, of Hampton, Sean Coveney, of Oak Ridge; daughters, Colleen Rachel, of Glenwood, and Kathleen Higginson, of Flemington; a brother, Rev. James Coreney, of Altoona, Pa.; sisters, Grace Coveney and Frances Hesser, both of Altoona, Pa.; and nine grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Our Lady of The Lake Church, 8 Windemere Ave., Mount Arlington. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m., at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin.
