WANTAGE - Gladys E. Kane, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her residence. Born in the Quarryville section of Wantage to the late John and Carrie Courtright, Mrs. Kane was a lifelong resident of the Sussex-Wantage area. She was a member of the Sussex United Methodist Church and a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 213 of Sussex. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin W., in 1999; her three brothers, Tracy Cortright in 1996, John Courtright in 1985, Percy Courtright in 2004; and her 11 sisters, Dorothy in 1911, Alberta in 1915, Ruth in 1925, Mabel Hillard in 1981, Hazel Marsh in 1991, Alice Jacobus in 1991, Marion VanGorden in 1995, Edith Decker in 2000, Mildred Nicholas in 2004, Isabel Mikrut in 2005, and Doris Pollard in 2009. She is survived by her son, Gary, of Houston, Texas; her daughter, Nancy Kearns, of Falling Rivers, W.Va.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will follow at Clove Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 15, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 213, P.O.
