DINGMANS FERRY, Pa. - David "Pappy" R. McGurgan, 56, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., died Thursday, March 14, 2013.
Born in Binghamton, N.Y., David grew up in Newton, where he lived before moving to Dingmans Ferry. He was a United States Air Force veteran. A computer support technician, David worked for Activant Systems in Austin, Texas, for 20 years. David enjoyed fishing, shooting at the range, camping with friends, and concerts at Bethel Woods. The son of the late William F. McGurgan Sr. and Joan (Middleton) McGurgan, David also was predeceased by his brother, John McGurgan, in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Lynn (Kobler) McGurgan; his daughter, Cheri Santini, of Matamoras, Pa.; his son, David McGurgan Jr., of Dingmans Ferry; his brother, William McGurgan Jr., of Dallas, Texas; and two grandchildren, Peter and Ryan Santini. "Special thanks to Nurse Liz and Lynn's sister, Robin, for all their love and care."� A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice of Stroudsburg, 26 North Sixth St., Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
