BLAIRSTOWN - Donald Blair LaBar, 73, of Blairstown, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at his home. Born Jan. 22, 1940, in Newton, he was the son of the late Dorothy and Uzal Blair LaBar. He and his wife, the former Nancy McMurtrie, celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary July 13, 2012. Donald was a 1958 graduate of Hackettstown High School. He was an Army veteran, stationed in Germany. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and target shooting. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Pocono Pistol Club. Survivors in addition to his wife Nancy include a sister, Marion Blackford, and two nephews, Larry and John Blackford, of Jackson, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown. Visitation will be Friday, April 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Blairstown Ambulance Corp., P.O. Box 389, Blairstown, NJ 07825; and the Blairstown Hose Co., No. 1, P.O. Box 239, Blairstown, NJ 07825.
