WESTFIELD - Andrew R. Grothmann, 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013. He was the son of Alice L. and Andrew H. Grothmann, of Westfield. He and his wife, Lois, served with SEND International in the Philippines from 1957 to 1969. For three years, they were house parents at Faith Academy and Andy taught for 10 years at FEBIAS College of Bible where he also became business manager. After returning to the U.S. in 1969, Andy worked for National Liberty Corporation for 19 years and then Shared Medical Systems for four years. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to North Carolina to volunteer at JAARS for 10 years. In 2003, they moved back to Pennsylvania to be closer to their grandchildren. Andy is survived by his wife of more than 62 1/2 years, Lois J. (Knoll) Grothmann; their daughter, Cheryl L., married to Jim McLoughlin; and sons Richard L., married to Deborah, and Mark L., married to Dawn; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Jennifer M. McLoughlin. A memorial service for Andrew will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Calvary Fellowship Homes Assembly Room, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601, in the Assembly room. There will be no public viewing. However, the family will receive friends on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the memorial. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
