ROSWELL, N.M. -- Ethel Lea Sparnon, 95, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Mission Arch Well Care Center in Roswell, N.M.

Mrs. Sparnon, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Allegra) Gordon, was born in Wanaque Feb. 23, 1918. She had resided in Franklin and Hamburg for 65 years, moving to Roswell, N.M., in 2007.

Mrs. Sparnon was a machine operator for Plastoid Corp. in Hamburg. She was a member of the Golden Age Club of Wanaque and enjoyed bowling, fishing and bingo as well as the New York Yankees.

Mrs. Sparnon married Charles H. Sparnon in Franklin Nov. 12, 1938. She was the oldest child in her family and shared the love of her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Sparnon, and brothers, Thomas and Robert Gordon.

Mrs. Sparnon is survived by her sons, Charlie Sparnon and his wife, Diane, of Roswell, N.M., and John Sparnon and his wife, Debby, of Andover; sisters, Elizabeth Gramlich of Wanaque, Jenny Drew of Franklin and Margaret Gould of Spring Hill, Fla.; grandchildren, Douglas Sparnon and his wife, Mary Ann, of Roswell, N.M., Lori Sanders of Littlefield, Texas, Jason Fairfield and his fiancée, Patti Summers, of Roswell, N.M., Summer Spurlock and her husband, Michael, of Greenville, Texas, Jeffrey Sparnon of Andover, and James Sparnon of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin. Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery.
