ROSWELL, N.M. -- John 'Jack' D. Conway, 82, of Roswell, N.M., passed away at home on June 25, 2013. Jean A. (Vissers) Conway, 77, of Roswell, N.M., passed away at Mission Arch Care and Rehab Center on June 29, 2013. Jack Conway was born in Hoboken and was the son of the late Steven and Mary Conway. Jean was born in Jersey City and was the daughter of the late William and Mary Vissers. Both graduated from Demarest High School, Jack in 1950 and Jean in 1953. Jack and Jean lived in Frankford Township, where Jack was an avid scuba diver and loved taking underwater pictures. He was also a member of the Sussex County Police Scuba Recovery Unit from 1981 to 1992, where he served as the instructor and dive master. Jack retired from the I.R.S. in 1985 and immediately began his career as an investigator for the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office until his retirement in 1992. Jean worked for Household Engineering Co. and was a dedicated member of the Frankford Township Board of Education from 1976 to 1992. Both retired to Roswell, N.M., relocated to Leesburg, Fla., and then finally returned to Roswell, N.M. Jack enjoyed ham radio and was an active member of the Pecos Valley Amateur Radio Club and was an avid firearms collector. Jean was an active member of the Roswell Senior Center and the Newcomers Group. Jack and Jean are survived by their son Kevin Conway and his wife, Kathy, of Valley, Wash.; their daughters MaryAnne Conway, of Orlando, Fla., and Elizabeth Elflein and her husband, Joseph, of Milford, Pa.; their grandchildren, Michael Conway, Katie Sharp, Kellie Trudeau and Mitchell Warner; and five great-grandchildren. Private cremation services were held in Roswell, N.M., at LaGrone Funeral Home.
