CHAPIN, S.C. - William X. "Bill" Selinger, of Chapin, S.C., died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, S.C. |
Born Jan. 4, 1942 in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edward J. and Alice Wells Selinger. He served active duty in the U.S. Army and subsequently served in the U.S. National Guard.

Bill enjoyed farming and gardening opportunities in earlier years in northwestern New Jersey and, using his gardening skills, was able to provide fresh produce to the Warner Lambert corporate cafeterias and local restaurants. Feeding and caring for the local wildlife was also a source of much spiritual enjoyment for Bill and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine "Cathie" Smith Selinger; two daughters, Diane Marie Selinger, of Montclair, and Beth Ann La Russa, of Newcastle, Del.; and a grandson, Anthony William LaRussa, of Tampa, Fla.
