SPARTA - Anne Dole, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 17, 2013. She was 89 years of age. Born in Newark on June 11, 1924, she was a graduate of Weequahic High School in Newark. Following graduation, Anne worked for the Prudential Insurance Company for 19 years. She married Charles Dole, a carpenter, in 1958. Together they built homes in Barnegat Light and Sparta and had two children, William "Bill" and Robert "Bob." Anne returned to work in the late '70s for the Sentry Insurance Company located in Whippany. She worked there for more than 12 years. Anne was a member of Lady of the Lake Church in Sparta for more than 40 years. She worked on election days in Sparta for more than 15 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved to throw a ball or play in the sandbox with her grandchildren. Anne was a dear friend to all who knew her. She constantly looked for the good in others and truly lived her faith. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles, and son William. She is survived by her son, Robert "Bob"; daughter-in-law, Donna; grandsons, Ryan, Patrick, Kevin and Zachary; as well as countless family and friends. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 294 Sparta Ave., Sparta. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery.
