FRANKFORD - William S. "Bill" Pickell, 77, of the Culver Lake Section of Frankford Township, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Newton Medical Center. Born and raised in Flemington, Mr. Pickell graduated from Hunterdon Central High School and went right into the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1956-1960. When Bill returned from the Marines, he resided in Flemington for many years, before moving to Maryland, Middlesex County and Montague from 1994-1998. He settled in the Culver Lake Section of Frankford Township in 1998. Bill was an insurance agent for Selective Insurance and various other insurance agencies. Bill was an avid bowler, and especially loved Sparta Lanes. He also enjoyed fishing and boating. The son of the late Jake Pickell and Helen Wyckoff Olenick, Bill also was predeceased by his brothers, Jack and Bob Pickell. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cindy (Fonseca) Pickell; four children, Michael Pickell and wife, Virginia, of California, William "Bill" Pickell, of Florida, Kimberly Pickell, of Bridgewater, and Patrick Pickell, of North Carolina; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Charlie Olenick and wife, Karen, of Savannah, Ga., and Paul Olenick and wife, Cheryl, of High Bridge. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
