George Wagner


George A.Wagner, 97, of Seminole, FL, formerly of Highland Heights, KY passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Palm Garden of Largo. He was a retired Sheet Metal Worker with Local 141 (now 24). He was a member of the VFW, past president of the . of Cincinnati and a 70 year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 24. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Europe during World War II. On June 6, 1944, he landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy under heavy German fire as a radioman attached to the 1st Infantry Division. He went on to serve in France, Belgium and Holland until the end of the war. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Ann Guenther Wagner and second wife, Frieda Neltner Wagner. George is survived by his daughter, Maridell Hahn (Eric Jackson); sons, Michael (Cynthia) Wagner and Mark (Mary McCorvie) Wagner; grandson, Thomas Hahn Jr.; grand daugters, Heidi (Paul) Hayse, Katie Wagner and Niki Wagner; great grandson, Connor Hayse; step daughter, Linda Reynolds; step son, Tim Reynolds; several step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. Visitation 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 26 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 S. Ft. Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, KY. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
