Gerald E. "Jerry" Scharstein, 82, of Southgate, KY. passed away on December 8, 2012 in Ft. Thomas, KY. He was a member of St. Therese Church, Over 50 club at church, American Legion, Edward W. Boers Post 153 Bellevue Dayton, Pepsi Cola Route Salesman for 28 years, 7 years spent as a Police officer for the city of Southgate, Army veteran of the Korean war, he was also an avid reader and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by Father, Edward Scharstein, Mother, Cecelia Scharstein. Gerald is survived by his Wife of 61 years, Betty Scharstein of Southgate, KY, Sons, Steve (Patty) Scharstein of Cold Spring, KY, Matt (Janie) Scharstein of Alexandria, KY, Wesley (Janet) Scharstein of Alexandria, KY, Randy (Amy) Scharstein of Alexandria, KY, Ken (Kim) Scharstein of Cold Spring, KY, 16 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and Many Nieces and Nephews. Visitation 9:00 am to 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 am Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the St. Therese Church, Southgate, Kentucky. Entombment will take place in the St. Stephen Cemetery Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
