James "Dynamite" MCKINLEY

James "Dynamite" was received by Jesus on November 16th, 2012 to the Great Fairways in the Sky. Jim was a graduate of Newport Catholic High School, was in the Navy during the Korean war where he qualified to become a submariner RM3 3rd class on the USS Catfish 339. He also served on the USS Pomodon and the USS Cusk. After the Navy he then went to Eastern Kentucky University. Upon graduating he became owner of the Green Lantern Tavern. Jim was a Kentucky Colonel and avid golfer. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers William and Eddie, and sister Lorraine Logan. His survivors include his beloved bride Pearl. Also, sisters Jean (Tom) Dressman and Ann Kippenbrock. Sons, James Scott McKinley (Peggy Premec) and Ryan and (Chasity) McKinley. Daughters, Tonie Cameron, Donna "DK" Taylor (Steve), Teddy Anne "Ted-Ted" (Tim) Devine. Grandchildren, Amber, Eric, Gerry Lynn, Erin, Zack, Khamryn, Zoe, Gabby, Hailea. Great-grandchildren, Mason, Brooklyn, Savannah, Bowen "Logan." He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, friends and their beloved dog Muffin. A celebration of life will be held at the Salvation Army, 1806 Scott Blvd. Covington Kentucky, at 11:00 am on Monday, November 19th. A private committal service will be held at a later date at Williamstown Veterans Cemetery. The United States Navy will then send Jim to eternal patrol at his port of call with a burial at sea in San Diego California. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the following:
