James Norman Johnson(1935 - 2013)


James Norman, age 77 years, of Burlington, KY passed away peacefully with his family at his side after complications of a stroke at the St. Elizabeth, Edgewood Wednesday, August 28, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Josephine Johnson of Connersville, IN. He was a graduate of Connersville High and the University of Cincinnati. He was employed by the C.G.& E. Co. (now Duke) for 35-1/2 years and retired in 1992. He was the owner of J's Picture Framing from 1985 to May of this year. He served in the U.S. Army and was a faithful member of Hebron Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Hebron Masonic Lodge #757 and Primetimers of Hebron Lutheran Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, LaVerne, and proud father of Eric (Terri) and two grandsons, Tyler and Corey who were the lights of his life, all of Taylor Mill, KY; his only cousin, Marty (Mary) Miller of Bloomington, IN. Also sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elma and Larry Benne, two nephews, Troy Benne, and Todd (Karen) Benne; two great nieces, Chelsey and Leah Benne. Supported by all of LaVerne's cousins and a host of close and precious friends including special friends, Val and Ken Davies of North Wales, Great Britain. Jim's favorite pastimes were extensive travel, reading, puzzles, word search, woodcarving, photography, U.K. fan and attending grandson's baseball games. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon Saturday at Hebron Lutheran Church, 3140 Limaburg Rd, Hebron, KY 41048 with funeral services immediately following at the church where a luncheon will be served afterward.
