Norman BROPHY(1942 - 2012)


Norman D. Brophy, 70, of Ludlow, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. He was a retired Brakeman (Hostler Helper) at Southern Railroad. Norm served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Crisis. He was a devoted Christian who belonged to Ludlow Christian Church. Norm was an Eagle Scout and an Assistant Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed camping and fishng and always looked forward to a yearly camping trip with friends. Norm loved to whittle and draw and would often present his artwork to family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Brophy and Arnola Tucker Brophy. Survivors include his son, David A. Brophy of Ludlow; daughter, Melissa (Henry) Banks of Cincinnati; and sister Ruth Ann Hammons of Crescent Springs. He is also survived by his step-grandson, Jonathan Banks; niece, Jamie Dunaway (Jeremy Lattimore); nephew, James Dunaway (Cassandra); a great niece, Emma: 3 great nephews, Gavin, Tyler and Aiden. Visitation is Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until the hour of Service at 7:00 P.M. all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
