Ralph R., age 88, a longtime, former resident of Florence, KY, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility in Naperville, IL. He was born January 18, 1924 in Covington, KY. Beloved husband of the late Norma (nee Points) Marsh, loving father of Randy Marsh, David (Laurie) Marsh of Aurora, IL and Denise Marsh, adored grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of six, devoted son of the late Louis and Virginia (nee Hurd) Marsh, dear brother of eight deceased siblings, fond uncle of many. The last 2 years Mr. Marsh lived in Naperville, Illinois near his son David Marsh and his grandchildren Ryan, Matt and Katelyn. He loved being close to family members and sharing time together those last few months. During those visits he enjoyed talking about the kids School and Sports. Education was always a priority and challenged his children and grandchildren to excel in school. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II
along with 3 other brothers. During that time he was a tail gunner on the USS Ranger and USS Enterprise. Ralph was employed by General Electric Corp., Evendale, OH for 25+ years, working in the model shop. The love of his life was Norma Marsh. He also loved the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, Pizza, and Ice Cream. In his later years he became passionate reader and liked to give his books away so others could enjoy them. He was a photographer and avid stamp and coin collector. Ralph will be remembered as a practical joker, for his ability to make people laugh and his love of family. Services will be held November 17, 2012 at 10 am at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill, KY.
