Sandra Louise Easton

Sandra Louise Easton, 74, of Hebron, Kentucky, passed away after a month long fight against cancer.

"Sandy" was born in Frankfort KY, before moving to Owenton and eventually calling Northern Kentucky home. She graduated from Lloyd High School in 1957 and went on to Eastern Kentucky University where she obtained her degrees in business administration and education, followed by her Master's Degree in counseling from UC and a M.B.A. at Xavier University.

Upon graduating EKU, she married Arlyn T. Easton and began a life and family for 53 years in Northern Kentucky. Sandy Easton had an extensive list of accomplishments during her Career at UK and NKU from 1965 to 1999. Aside from being a respected and sought after professor in the college of business, she was active on over 29 boards and committees and was recognized as the "Outstanding Woman of the Year" in 1985.

With five academic publications and recognition for her work with "Women in Business" in the 80s, she was promoted to leadership roles such as Dean of the College of Business, Asst. Provost and Acting Provost within the Northern Kentucky University organization. Sandy Easton ran for State Senate in Kentucky in 1996, wanting to change the current direction of the local government. She was a member and first female Chairperson of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau from 1983 to 1999 and was an original member of the Board of Directors of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center until the present, promoting tourism and corporate business in the Tri-State area.

Sandy is survived by her husband Arlyn T. Easton, her sister Mary Watson, her only child "Beau" Arlyn T.L. Easton, his wife Cassie and grandchildren Alexandria (8), Cameron (8), Chase (8) and "Bubbles" Kaytelyn (10 mos).

Visitation will be held at Stith Funeral Homes 7500 U.S. Highway 42 Florence, KY 41042 from 3 PM to 9 PM on Thursday August 29th. The funeral will be held at Florence Christian Church 300 Main Street Florence, KY 41042 at 11 AM on Friday August 30th.

Her family requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts, anyone wishing to contribute, should donate to their favorite charitable cause as Sandy gave so much to so many. Sandy was loved and admired by all who knew her and made the world a much better place for 74 years.
