Washington Franklin, (a.k.a - W.F., Dub, Tiny, Pops) 91, born Dec 29, 1920, went to be with the Lord on Nov 12, 2012. Born in Clay Co., Manchester, Ky; Hornsby was a World War II Vet proudly serving his country with the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Hornsby worked at Wilson Dairy in Cincinnati for over 32 years. Retired from Security at St. Luke Hospital, Ft. Thomas after 5 1/2 years of service and retired from Newport Board of Education, serving as a school bus driver for 11 years. He was a devoted member of Highland Hills Baptist Tabernacle, Ft. Thomas, (formerly Newport Baptist Tabernacle) for almost his entire life. He served on the Newport Auxiliary Police Department for 22 years. Loving husband to Alvira Heck, who proceeded him in death, five children, sons Frank Hornsby, Harrodsburg, KY; Larry Hornsby, who proceeded him in death; George Hornsby, Alexandria, KY; Elmer Hornsby, Union, KY and daughter, Sandra Wagner, Walton, KY; 17 Grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren, ¬35 plus Great Great Grandchildren. Brother Lucian Hornsby, who preceded him in death; sister Edith Singleton, Somerset, KY, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4-9pm on Thurs, Nov 15 at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Cold Spring. Funeral services will be held at Highland Hills Baptist Tabernacle, Ft. Thomas, KY at 11 am on Fri, Nov 16. Burial immediately following the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, KY.
