Raymond H. "Ray" Rueter, 89, of Crescent Springs, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Florence Park Care Center in Florence. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs. Ray served our country earning a Bronze Star during World War II in the United States Army. He worked for Interstate Brands (Butternut Bread) for 39 years working his way up through the company from a gas boy to the Transportation Manager. Ray was a member of the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. An exceptional bowler, he bowled a perfect game and in the following game bowled a 299. Ray appeared in the show "Bowling for Dollars" to receive his "300" ring. Ray had five hole-in-ones at various local golf courses. Ray is preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Reid (2013); brothers, Rev. Joseph Rueter (2010), Billy Rueter; sister, Ruth Matracia. Survivers include his loving wife of 65 years, Jayne Rueter of Crescent Springs; son, Raymond "Ray" (Cathy) Rueter, Jr of Villa Hills; daughters, Sharon (Don) Thelen of Villa Hills, Shelley (Rich) Barker of Villa Hills; son-in-law Bob Reid of Columbus; grandchildren, Kristie (Ken) McManus, Kelly (Brandon) Bowman, Matthew (Elizabeth) Barker, Eric (Angie) Barker, Shannon (Ryan) Lippert, Christopher Ferguson; 12 great grandchildren. Visitation is Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 10:30AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00PM, noon, all in St. Joseph Church, 2470 Loraine Court, Crescent Springs, KY 41017. Interment with military honors in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Redwood, 71 Orphanage Road, Ft. Mitchell or go to www.redwoodnky.org. Ronald B.
