Dennis Lee Chapman, 62, of Florence, KY, passed away following surgery in Indianapolis, IN on November 7, 2013. He was born on December 13, 1950 in Covington, KY, to Richard and Sarah Katherine McNees Chapman. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Joyce Chapman Hatfield; and a brother, Allen Chapman in infancy. Before his retirement, Dennis worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor in many Northern Kentucky schools for over 30 years. Dennis loved his church, his beloved Kentucky Wildcats, and researching family history. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Kentucky and his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Kentucky State. As one of his many cousins wrote, "He kept us together as a family."
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Janet Enscoe Chapman; his mother, Sarah Katherine McNees; his step daughters: Denise (Craig) Humphrey of Louisville, KY and Stephanie (Vlad) Rozanovich of Cincinnati, OH; 4 grandchildren: Parker, Nathan, and Anna Claire Humphrey, and Noah Rozanovich; 2 nephews: Jamie (Lisa) Hatfield and Jeffrey (Annette) Hatfield; and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Madison Avenue Christian Church, 1530 Madison Avenue, Covington, KY 41011, with Rev. Chinna Simon officiating. Interment will follow at 3 pm on Monday at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Pendleton County. The visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Sunday at his church.
