STORY

Donnie Fleming Story, 65, of Burlington, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on May 13, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Marilyn Sue Story(nee: West); father, Frazee Fleming Story; mother Retta V. Story; sister, Sondra Ann Crutcher(nee: Story). He is survived by 2 daughters, Rhonda Denise DeWitt, Mindy Kay Story; adopted son Bo Owens of Batavia, OH; grandchildren, Alexander Flemming DeWitt, Sessily Mikayla Estep and Wyatt Nicholas Owens; twin sister, Bonnie Jean League of Burlington, sister, Lyvia Joyce Steele of Aurora, IN and many nieces and nephews. Donnie was a member of the Church of Christ, Manchester, IN and served as past master of the Petersburg Masonic Lodge. He was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War, where he served in the 25th Infantry Division as a tele-type operator. After returning from the war, he opened and operated Story's Service Station and operated as fire chief of the Petersburg Fire Dept. for several years. Upon the closing of the service station, he became a plant manager for Interstate Asphalt Company, where he worked until 1991. In 1994, Donnie and his wife, Marilyn, started their own business, Handi-Van Inc., for the transportation of persons in wheelchairs. Upon his retirement, his daughters, Rhonda and Mindy, were given control of the company, which continues to grow and thrive everyday. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 16 from 5 - 9 PM at Stith Funeral Homes 2988 Phyllis Ct. Hebron, KY 41048. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 17 at 10 AM at the funeral home.
