Elsie Townsend Hart, 81, of Falmouth, KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2013, at the Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet, KY. Born on July 20, 1932, in Berry, Kentucky , she was the only daughter of the late Dalbert and Ruby Bush Townsend. On November 26, 1953, she married Earl Vaughn Hart, and after 51 years of marriage, her dear husband preceded her in death on February 8, 2005. Throughout her life, Elsie bloomed wherever she was planted. A Harrison County native, she was a 1950 graduate of Berry High School, and she was raised in the Berry Christian Church. Early in their marriage, Earl and Elsie lived in Latonia, KY, where she was a bank teller for Central Trust Banking Company in Cincinnati, OH and a member of the Latonia Christian Church. Upon returning to Pendleton County, Elsie worked as a clerk for the former Sears and Roebuck Catalog Store in Falmouth, a teller with the former Pendleton Federal Savings & Loan in Falmouth, and most recently, as a clerk with Houchen's Clothing Store in Falmouth. She was a member of the Falmouth Christian Church, where she served as Deaconness, Treasurer, and a Sunday School teacher. Before her illness, Elsie also participated in Vacation Bible School, helped with bereavement dinners at her church, and volunteered with Kincaid Regional Theatre. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Arlyn and Harold Townsend and 2 twin brothers in infancy. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Hart Delaney; her son-in-law, John Delaney; 2 granddaughters, Elizabeth Delaney and Jennifer Delaney Hartzel; her grandson-in-law, Steven Tyler Hartzel; her great grandson, Steven Lane Hartzel; her brother, Donald (Marie) Townsend of Winchester, KY; her sisters-in-law, Wanda Townsend and Wilma Hart, both of Covington, KY and Wilma Faye (Jim) Hoffman of Jonesville, KY and a host of extended family and friends. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. The visitation will be from 10-2 pm on Thursday preceding the service. Interment will take place in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Pendleton County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Falmouth Christian Church, 303 W.
