Ferris

G. Patrick Ferris, 67, died peacefully on Friday, November 2, following a brief illness. Beloved husband of Joan Lampe Ferris, devoted father of Bill (Chrissy) Ferris, Emily (Clay) Pixler, and Lauren Ferris, Pat was a native of Greenhills, Ohio. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School and Xavier University and served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve, including a tour in Vietnam on the USS Rich. In 1977, Pat moved to Ft. Thomas where he reared his family and found many friends at St. Thomas Parish. The joys in his life were his grandchildren, to whom he read countless books, filled countless water balloons, and tossed countless whiffle balls. Thoughts of Brad York, Joanna, Sam and Ben Ferris, and Lincoln, Emma, and Avery Pixler brought smiles to Pat even during the darkest hours of his illness. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Pat is survived by his brothers Jim (Nykie) and Tom (Rhonda) Ferris, his sisters Ellen Adderly and Mary Jo Ferris, and 25 nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosemary Ferris, his brother Dan Ferris, and his sister, Ann Schehr along with his uncle, Raymond Jung, for whom Pat cared for many years prior to Ray's death. Visitation will be at Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 S. Ft. Thomas Avenue, Ft. Thomas, KY on Thursday, November 8 from 4:00 - 7:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 9 at 10:00 at St. Thomas Church, 520 S. Ft. Thomas Avenue followed by burial at St. Stephen Cemetery in Ft. Thomas. Memorials are suggested to Roger Bacon High School, 4320 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45217, St. Thomas Education Fund, 428 S. Fort Thomas Ave, Ft. Thomas, KY 41075 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042. Memorials are also encouraged for the Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease Foundation, P.O. Box 105N, Akron, Ohio 44333.
