J.V. Goebel, 93, of Mentor, KY, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Continental Manor in Blanchester, OH. He was retired clerk for the C & O Railroad in Silver Grove, KY, a WW II Army Veteran, member Mentor Baptist Church, Mentor, KY & a supporter of the Salvation Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife Celeste Goebel & a daughter Bonnie Backer. J.V. is survived by his wife, Mary Linda Goebel, a son, Reverend James G. Goebel, a sister, Iola Moore, 5 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. Visitation 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY with funeral services at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment GrandView Cemetery Mentor, KY.
