BURTON
John H. Burton, age 79, died September 15th at his residence in Burlington. He was a retired Air Traffic Controller, Substitute Teacher for Boone Co. Schools and worked on the Airport Noise Abatement Committee as an expert. He was an avid outdoorsman. John was a Mason and a member of Florence Lodge. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife Mary (nee Lair) Burton of Burlington; 2 daughters Lisa (Rob) Robinson of Louisville , KY and Regina (Keith) Merkle of Burlington; 2 sisters Elfleda Mitchell of Corbin ,KY and Nancy Miller of London ,KY ; 2 brothers Raymond Burton of Hazard, KY and Chester Burton of Cincinnati , Ohio. John was the loving grandfather of Kyle and Chad Robinson and Andrew and Brian Merkle. Visitation will be Saturday September 22nd, 9-11am with the service immediately following at Linnemann Family Funeral Home, Burlington. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
