WANNER

Lester Wanner, 95, Cold Spring, KY, passed away at his home Thursday, February 27, 2014. He was born in Alexandria, KY on October 11, 1918, the son of the late Frederick Wanner and Hattie Willhite Wanner. Les retired after 35 years as a truck driver with Teamsters Local #100 of Cincinnati, OH. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring and served as Sunday School Secretary for over 60 years. Les enjoyed working on bicycles and small engines, he knitted scarves and was considered to be a local historian. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Hartig Wanner; a son, David Wanner; a brother, Charles Wanner and a sister, Violet Sams. He is survived by his wife, Mary Barrett Wanner; a son, Ronald (Sandi) Wanner; two daughters, Judith (Benny) Frye and Darlene (Dan) Schalk; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two step daughters, Lilla (Fred) Losey and Rebecca (Doug) Orth; one step son, Kenny (Sandy) Riley; nine step grandchildren, sixteen step great grand children; two brothers, Kenneth Wanner And Clayton Wanner; four sisters, Goldie Ruda, Hazel Williams Ruth Wagner and Bonnie Riley. Visitation 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014 with funeral services following at 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, 4410 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076. Interment in the First Baptist Church Cemetery Cold Spring, KY. Memorials may be made to the Children's Ministries of First Baptist Church of Cold Spring. Alexandria Funeral home serving the family.
