Loraine Altevers, 93, of Covington, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Rosedale Green in Covington. She was a loving wife and devoted mother to 9 children, 22 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Loraine dedicated her life to her family. After raising her children she worked in the catering business for Davis Catering. Loraine was a member of Mother of God Church in Covington, Northern Kentucky Senior Citizens, Irish Rovers and many Card Clubs. She was a master scrabble player, a competitive card player, and loved to line dance. Another passion of Loraine's was sewing and crafts, especially her crocheted hangers, and a variety of crafts that she shared with family and friends. Her favorite memory of Christmas was sewing and crafting gifts while her children were in school. Loraine was a very outgoing person who loved meeting people and had many life long friends. Loraine was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert J. Altevers (1978), and daughter Carolyn (1945). Survivors include her sons, Robert J. (Lyla) Altevers, Jr. of San Diego, CA, James (Diane) Altevers of Florence, KY, Donald (Ginger) Altevers of Ft. Mitchell, KY; daughters, Mary Ann (Jim) Egan of North Chelmsford, MA, Diane (Terry) McFalls of Union, KY, Kathy (Dick) Von Lehman of Sammamish, WA, Jeanie (Jack) Halenkamp of Florence, KY, Linda Altevers of Erlanger, KY; brothers, Ray Goetz of Crestview Hills, KY, Leroy Goetz of Covington, KY; sister Rose Scott of Ft. Wright, KY; and many adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation is Friday, February 1, 2013 from 10:00AM to the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon, all in Mother of God Church, 119 W. 6th Street, Covington, KY 41011. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
