Obituary Condolences


Ottis Paul Lanter passed away at his home in Williamstown on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the age of 98. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Sam Cassel Lanter and seven brothers and sisters. Ottis is survived by his sons: Paul (Julia) Lanter and Mark Lanter, brother: Dr. Kenneth Elwood Lanter, sister: Emma Gene Biggs and several nieces and nephews. A Staff Sargent in the Army Air Corps during World War II, Mr. Lanter was a graduate of the University of Kentucky where he earned his law degree. He practiced law over 50 years and was Commonwealth Attorney for 20 years. He retired from private practice in 2002. Mr. Lanter was a lifelong member of the Dry Ridge Christian Church, a Senior Counselor with the American Bar Association, a life member of the Crittenden - Dry Ridge Lodge #694 F. & A. M., member of the Scottish Rite 32nd degree Valley of Covington and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. Saturday. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY
