BAKER
Ronald Gayle Baker, 76, of Waxahachie (originally from Grant's Lick, KY) was called home on Tuesday, Nov.1, 2011.
Ron died peacefully in his home in the company of his loving wife, Bonnie, and his children Vanessa, Rhonda, Tanya and Ronnie.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harley and Marie Baker of Grant's Lick, Ky. and sister, Margie Gray of Grant's Lick, Ky.
Ronald touched the lives of many.
His zest for life, strong faith and kindness to all who had the pleasure of meeting him will always be remembered.
Ron's loving smile and jolly laugh will never be silenced.
Ronald's great loves in life were spending time with his family, attending church and Sunday school, camping, fishing, watching the Price is Right, barbecue competitions, telling very silly jokes (some of them actually funny), making people smile and living life to its fullest.
Ronald was a deacon at The Avenue Baptist Church in Waxahachie.
He retired from Consolidated Freightways after 20-plus years of service and was the owner of R&S Auto Sales in Reagor Springs.
Ronald is survived by Bonnie Baker, his loving wife of 54 years and the true apple of his eye; daughter, Vanessa Graham and husband, Steve, of Reagor Springs; daughter, Rhonda Orzali and husband, Gary, of Taylor Mill, Ky.; daughter, Tanya Curtis and David Sam of Reagor Springs; son, Ronnie Baker and wife, Michelle, of The Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Deena Harvanek and husband, Michael, of Dallas, Texas; Angela Orzali of Covington, Ky.; Anthony Orzali of Taylor Mill, Ky.; Scott Curtis and wife, Melissa, of Palestine, Texas; Kevin Ferrell and Michelle Crandall of Longmont, Colo.; Heather Walter of Italy, Texas; Christopher Walter of Italy, Texas; Brittany Curtis; Brandie Leslie of Mesquite, Texas; Trevor Leslie of Dallas, Texas; Spencer Leslie of The Colony, Texas; Keith Long of The Colony, Texas; Lilliana Long of The Colony, Texas; great-grandchildren, Ella Harvanek of Dallas, Texas, Hayes Harvanek of Dallas, Texas, Chantyva Orzali of Covington, Ky., Josiah Orzali of Covington, Ky., Christiana Murray of Covington, Ky., Zachary Curtis of Palestine, Texas, Aniya McEntyre of Mesquite, Texas and Ethan Ferrell of Longmont, Colo.
The family wishes to thank their immediate and extended families, as well as their wonderful friends for their love and support over the past months and especially during this difficult time. Special thanks also goes out to Dr. Patty Powell, Dr. Karen Klatte, Dr. Shetty, Dr. Ausloos, the Fresenius Dialysis Center and their staffs. Visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home, Alexandria, Ky on Monday November 7, 2011 from 5-8pm. Services will be Grants Lick Baptist Church on Tuesday at 2pm. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at
