Carmack

George Clinton "Sonny" Carmack 79 of Alexandria passed away peacefully at his homestead surrounded by his family on the morning of April 18, 2012 with His wife of 61 years Rosie (Meyer) Carmack. His four children Terry (Linda) Carmack, Clint (Jenny) Carmack, Mindy (Kirk) Kuper-Painter, and Doug (Ella) Carmack. Nine Grandchildren Kim (Kevin)Gelbaugh, Brandon ( Tiffany) Kuper, George "Bubba" Carmack, Chris Carmack, Zack Kuper, Brittany(Robbie) Stumpf ,Mike Kuper, Brandon Mitchell and Thomas Mitchell Also three Great Grandchildren Carter Kuper , Clayton Kuper and Cayson Mitchell.

Sonny had served as the Mayor of Alexandria along with previously serving as an Alexandria City Councilman. He was involved with the Alexandria Fair for many years enjoying seeing the smiles of all the people he knew every Labor Day Weekend. He served on the Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department. Sonny worked at the Campbell County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy and retired from St. Luke Hospital as a Security Officer. He was a Lifetime member of St. Mary's Church in Alexandria and a Member of the Knights of Columbus. He also helped serve families through the years at Cooper Funeral Home. Sonny was a very kind and compassionate family man and friend to many. Who will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria on Sunday from 3-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10am. Burial will follow at Alexandria Cemetery. Memorial are suggested to St. Marys Building Fund 8246 East Main Street , Alexandria Kentucky 41001.
