Sr. Kathleen, C.D.P. died on April 12, 2012 at Holy Family Home in Melbourne. She was 91 years of age and planned to celebrate her 70th anniversary as a professed memeber of the Congregation of Divine Providence in June. Kathleen Margaret Kelly was born in Buffalo, NY on March 17, 1921. She was one of six children born to Thomas and Sara Teresa Kelly. Her parents, her sisters Anna Mae, Aileen and Rita (Sr. Mary Agnes), who was also a Sister of Divine Providence, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Angela Jenkins, brother Thomas Kelly, nieces, nephews and her religious community. Kathleen entered the Congregation of Divine Providence in August of 1939; she made her first profession of vows in 1942 receiving the name Sr. Margaret Teresa and professed her final vows in 1947. Sr. Kathleen spent the first 31 years of her ministry in the field of education and the later years of her life as a grant writer for the province and was very involved in the County Department on Aging in Baltimore, MD. She retired from active ministry in 2001 and resided at Holy Family Home. Visitation will begin in St. Anne Convent Chapel on Tuesday, April 17 at 3:30 p.m. A Wake Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial at 4:30 p.m. Burial will follow in the Convent Cemetery.
