Dr. Wayne Franklin Lipscomb, 54, husband to Paula Wiley Lipscomb, passed away May 15, 2014 in Lexington. He was born May 26, 1959 in Covington, Kentucky to Violet Casson Lipscomb of Georgetown and the late Vernor Franklin Lipscomb. He was Senior Pastor at Gano Baptist Church in Georgetown, Chaplain of the Georgetown City Police, Certified Conciliatory for Peacemaker Ministries, and former Chaplain of the Boone County Sheriffs Department. He obtained his Bachelor Degree at Northern Kentucky University, his Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Doctorate from Luther Rice Seminary. Along with his wife and mother he is survived by daughter, Ashlee Lipscomb McCullough (Mark) of Sadieville and son, US Army Sgt. Paul Franklin Lipscomb (Danielle) of Ft. Drum, New York. Grandchildren, Scarlett Lipscomb, Averee McCullough, and grandson on the way, William Calvin Wayne McCullough, and a host of relatives and other close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Connie Tuttle. Funeral services are 11am Monday, May 19, 2014 at Gano Baptist Church with Sgt. Paul Franklin Lipscomb, Rev. Harry Hargis, Rev. Stan Cole, Rev. Steve Broughton, and Rev. Arnie Forman officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with pallbearers being the Deacons of Gano Baptist Church. Visiting hours are 3-8pm Sunday at the church.
