MEEKER

Bernice Fay Meeker passed away peacefully at 12:18 am Friday morning, July 18th at the hospice center in Edgewood, Ky. She was a faithful, life time member of Elsmere Baptist Church where she taught the preschool Sunday school class for 42 years. She was very involved in her Sunday School Gleaner Class and the Women's Missionary Union. She was dedicated to visiting and calling the elderly or ill members of her church on a weekly basis. Bernice was a member of the Daughter's of America since her teenage years. She was a past state counselor and remained the council secretary of the local chapter up until the time of her death. She was a proud graduate of Lloyd Memorial High School and received the Lloyd Medal for Outstanding Student upon graduation. She was a valued employee of Peck, Shaffer and Williams of Cincinnati, where she worked many years as a legal secretary. Her faith in God and her beloved husband and best friend, Fred Meeker Jr. were the center of her life. They were married 57 years at the time of his death in 2007. She was Aunt Bernice to Philip Tanner of Independence, Richard Tanner of Florence, Charles Tanner of Florence, Betty Jean Steine of Burlington, Lee Tanner of Elsmere, Nancy Dauwe of Walton and Dennis Tanner of Florence. She was also aunt to many great and great, great nieces and nephews. She spoke daily of her many friends who enriched her life through the years. Her sense of humor and passion for living and serving will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 22 from 9:30-11:00 am with a service immediately following at the Elsmere Baptist Church on Garvey Avenue. Her final resting place will be next to her beloved Fred at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH
