Msgr. Ralph W. BEITING Obituary
Rev. Msgr. Ralph W. Beiting passed away on August 9, 2012 in Ashland, Ky. He was a Catholic Priest with Diocese of Lexington, Ky; he was ordained June 4, 1949 and his first assignment was as an assistant at St. Bernard Church in Dayton and as a member of the Newport Catholic High School faculty. In 1950, Fr. Beiting was assigned to several Eastern Kentucky parishes and the Appalachian Mountain Area to administer to the needs of the poor particularly the children. Fr. Beiting was preceded in death by his brothers Stanley Beiting, Paul Beiting and Ray Beiting and his sister Dorothy Noll. Fr. Beiting is survived by his brothers Donald Beiting of Wilder, KY, Jerry Beiting of Peach Grove, KY and Jim Beiting of Silver Grove, Ky and his sisters Sr. Martha Beiting, SND of Covington, KY Ann Schadle of Highland Heights, KY and Mary Lou Deavy of Fort Thomas, KY. Father Beiting is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 8:30 AM to 10:45 AM Tuesday, August 14, at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph Cemetery Cold Spring, Kentucky. Memorials are suggested to the Father Ralph Beiting Mountain Mission Center, 332 Riverbend Rd, Louisa, Kentucky 41230. The Dobbling, Muehlenkamp & Erschell Funeral Home is serving the Family. Online condolences can be given at www.dmefuneral.com.

At one time, I was able to support Msgr. Beiting's Christian Applacian Project. He was such a pioneer in bringing the Gospel and Catholic truths and traditions to Applachia. Because of my knowledge of his work, that was so blessed by God, a former parish, that I had the privilege to pastor, still collects Christmas toys for children in Southeast Kentucky. May God give him the eternal rest and peace that he has so richly earned.
