Dennis Edward "Joe" Johanneman Obituary


Dennis Edward "Joe", 64, husband of Eileen McCarthy Johanneman, passed away, Wed, July 3, 2013. Born in Cincinnati, OH, Joe was Vice President of Investments for Lexington Investment Company, having previously worked with Prudential Securities and Merrill Lynch. He also owned Financial Review Tax Service. Before his career as financial advisor, he was a distinguished heavy truck sales engineer and manager at Paul Miller Ford, recognized by TIME magazine for his accomplishments. A Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, stationed in Danang, Vietnam, he was a Plane Captain and served on an RF4B Phantom, EA6A Intruder and EF10B Skynight, before being Honorably Discharged as an E-5 (Sgt) in 1970. Joe was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Rifle Expert Badge. He was a member of the Cathedral of Christ the King Parish since 1972. He was also a dedicated member of the Marine Corp League-Dan Daly Detachment. He had a pilot license and Federal Aviation Airframe and Powerplant License. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his children, Eileen (Lin) Vaughan, Christine (Brian) O'Neill, Jennifer (Mike) Langfels and Douglas (Shaunna) Johanneman; siblings, Diane Vaske, Gene Mahoney, Danny Mahoney, Karen Boland, Christina Thomas, Cynthia Noggle, Sue Saner, Georgeann Pearson, Laurie Johanneman and Gilbert Johanneman; grandchildren, Doug, Michael, Robert, Evelin, Kelly, Jacob, Abby and Jack; and step mother, Joan Johanneman. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Johanneman, mother, Dorothy Seifert Mahoney and step father, Eugene Mahoney. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Cathedral of Christ the King, conducted by Rev. Gino Donatelli. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
