Osa R. Hollon Obituary


Osa R. Hollon, an Erlanger resident, passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood, KY at the age of 83. He was the husband of Della Hisel Hollon. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Vickie (Gary) Mertz of Ft. Mitchell, Gina Dicks of Winchester, Christa (Joe) Sfameni of Atlanta, Ga., two brothers, Ottis Hollon of Crittenden, Olaff Hollon of Union, one sister Allena Jones of Apex, NC, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hollon was a former machinist for American Tool, former owner of Flingsville Feed Store, former agency manager and district manager of 16 yrs for National Life & Accident Insurance Company, and currently operated Holland Cleaning and Floor Care. Mr. Hollon was a Korean war Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member, Deacon and Chairman of the Personnel Committee of the First Baptist Church in Ft. Thomas, KY, a member, moderator, and chairman of the personnel committee of the Executive board of the Northern KY Baptist Association. He was a former Deacon at the Crittenden Baptist Church where he was active in missions. He served in the Mission Service Corps for KY Baptist Convention and North American Mission Board, and a member of Gideon International. He was a former member of U.S. Army Reserve, Dry Ridge Masonic Lodge, and Dry Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation will be Monday, August 5th from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and the funeral at 11:00am Tuesday, August 6th, all at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY. Burial will follow in the Hill Crest cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY.
