Raymond Frank Austing, 89, of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky passed away on Monday, January 6th at his residence. He was a proud Navy veteran of World War II and graduate of the University of Colorado-Boulder. Raymond was also a retired engineer with Littleford Company-Florence and a member of American Legion Post 153. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen (Tichenor) Austing and son, Gerry McClanahan. Raymond is survived by his daughters, Ellen Dale (Steven) Coghill of Ft. Thomas and Teri Olsen of Carmel, IN; daughter-in-law, Sheryl McClanahan of Ft. Thomas; grandsons, Matthew (Maggie) McClanahan & Brandon (Christina) Coghill, both of Ft. Thomas, and Brent Coghill of Dayton, OH; great grandson, Alistair Coghill of Ft. Thomas and sisters, Margaret Mary Austing C.D.P. & Mary Edith Austing C.D.P., both of Melbourne. Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m., with the funeral ceremony to follow at 1 p.m., Friday, January 10th at Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to the Second Harvest Food Bank 701 East Columbia Street Springfield, OH 45503.
