Billie Page, age 84 of Lexington, went home to be with the Lord, Friday April 2, 2010 at the Mercy Health Hospital in OKC. Billie Jean Pitchford was born August 14, 1925 in Hartford, AR, the youngest of two children born to William August Pitchford and Bernice (Cowardin) Pitchford.
She spent her early childhood in AR before moving to Poteau where she attended school. She graduated from Poteau High School in 1942. She married the love of her life, a young service man and childhood friend named Robert Payne Page. They wed on August 17, 1945 in Ft. Smith, AR while he was home on leave. To this union, two sons, Jake and Allen were born. Being married to a career military man meant moving often to different bases. They lived in various places including Alaska, Japan, Ft.Worth, Taiwan and California. They settled in Lexington in 1964. Billie worked tirelessly as a homemaker, caring and providing for her family. She cherished her family and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She loved entertaining and looked forward to cooking for family get togethers. Billie was a member of the Cleveland Co. Home Extension Club and loved working in her yard and caring for her flowers. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington where she served in various women’s ministries. She spent countless hours in the church kitchen preparing meals for her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Page in 2005; her daughter-in-law, Belinda Page in 2009; infant son, Robert Page; her parents, William and Bernice Pitchford and sister, Welma Tucker.
She is survived by her sons, Jake Page of Mesquite, TX and Allen Page and wife Janet of Richardson, TX; four grandchildren, Zachary, Megan, Robert and William “Bill;� favorite Niece, Sandra Tucker of Norman; nephews, Bill Tucker and wife Pat of Norman and Jerry Tucker and wife Mary of Norman and many other family and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A. M. Monday April 5, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Lexington with Chaplain Randy Ridenour officiating. Pallbearers will be Zachary, Robert and Bill Page, Gary and Chris Thompson and Bill Tucker. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.

Billie was one of my first mentors, she taught me several valuable lessons that I still use today, and have passed on to my daughters. In my thougts and prayers.
